Kaido vs Shanks - What really happened and where does Kaido stand?

All we really know about the fight (I use this term SUPER loosely) is that the two met while Kaido was off chasing down Whitebeard to, presumably, finish him off, but Shanks was the one who showed up at Marineford. Interestingly enough, Shanks and co. showed up with no wounds and no ship damage. Keep in mind, Kaido and Shanks are both Yonko. Does anyone REALLY believe Shanks curb-stomped Kaido and showed up completely unharmed?

I think they didn't fight at all (thus loose use). The only reason Kaido would have chosen this time to attack Whitebeard was because he would be able to get out of the fight with minimal damages. Being a little bold, he may have also wanted to take out the Marines too and saw the chance to do it all at once. Now if was the case, why would he fight Shanks? I think that Kaido originally planned on attacking Whitebeard, but since he met up with Shanks first he realized his plan wouldn't play out the way he thought. If he won, he would have taken heavy losses and wasted plenty of time. If he lost, he would have taken even more losses and not be able to go after Whitebeard at all. If anything, the two probably met up, talked and then went their own ways with no confrontation. The talking would also explain what took Shanks so long.

For all we know, Kaido could have gone toe-to-toe with Whitebeard, but both sides would accumulate severe losses. We know he currently has a large beast army and is worthy enough to be a Yonko, but I want to know what you guys and gals think. What happened when Kaido and Shanks met? How does Kaido compare with Shanks and the other Yonko, dead and alive? Could he actually be Scopper Gaban? Does his devil fruit allow him to transform into a Ichthyocentaurs?????
